School Operations and Community Support in Oak Hill

MEET Gema Rubenstein

As Director of Operations at Blue Frog School of Music, Gema Rubenstein helps keep the school organized, connected, and moving forward. She supports instructors with enrollment, scheduling, invoicing, communication, and other administrative needs so they can spend less time managing paperwork and more time focusing on their students and music.

Gema also helps Blue Frog stay connected with its families and the surrounding community. She creates the school’s monthly newsletter, manages its presence on Nextdoor, contributes to social media and marketing efforts, and works to ensure families receive clear, helpful, and timely information.

Supporting the People Behind the Music

Gema believes that strong operations should make life easier for everyone involved. Her goal is to create thoughtful systems, improve communication, and handle the behind-the-scenes details that allow Blue Frog’s instructors to concentrate on what they do best: teaching, creating, and sharing their love of music.

Before joining Blue Frog, Gema served for eight years in the United States Navy as an Electrician’s Mate Second Class Petty Officer. During her military service, she gained experience in leadership, technical operations, instruction, program management, and supporting teams in fast-paced environments.

After leaving the Navy, Gema became a licensed massage therapist, a profession she remains active in today. Her experience working closely with people has strengthened her commitment to listening, problem-solving, and creating environments where others feel supported and cared for.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Science with a minor in Psychology and has continued her studies in computer information systems. Her background allows her to bring together organization, technology, communication, and a people-first approach in support of Blue Frog’s students, families, and instructors.
